Job Description

SAIC in support of the Remote Sensing Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in El Segundo, CA has an immediate need for a Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Engineer. This individual will apply analytic methods and tools to identify capability gaps/shortfalls, analyze future technologies and define concepts to resolve gaps/shortfalls for the Space and Missile System Center Remote Sensing Directorate (SMC/RS). They will also identify, develop, and capture concept performance data, operating concepts, and architectural connectivity/interrelations into a data repository to support development of future architecture designs to exploit emerging technology opportunities. A successful Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Engineer will possess knowledge and experience with space systems engineering, system concepts of operations, modeling and simulation analysis, and system integration activities. Candidate will provide SE&I Mission Engineering support to the Space Based Infrared Remote Sensing (SBIRS) and Weather Enterprise programs for SMC/RS. Major duties of the position include:

* Perform enterprise analysis activities
* Perform analysis activities supporting architecture development and control
* Conduct modeling, simulation and analysis of the system architecture and develop future concepts for the system architecture

Conduct technology trades of the system architecture
* Support development of study plans for architecture development and special trade studies
* Quantify enterprise performance impacts due to delay in fielding specific capabilities
* Quantify performance impacts and sensitivity to changes in CONOPS, Scenario, or threats by varying key parameters in Monte Carlo analyses
* Interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force
* Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Math with 9 years relevant experience with space and ground systems
* Current Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
* Strong, proactive individual who takes the initiative to identify, own and solve customer problems
* Experience with Engineering analysis
* Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
* Superior interpersonal, written and communications skills
* Knowledge of modeling and simulation approaches
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment
