Description

SAIC in support of the Remote Sensing (RS) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in El Segundo, CA has an immediate need for an engineer with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience, or a Masters in Systems Engineering who can perform MBSE model development for the RS Enterprise to enable a Digital Engineering framework. Candidate will work with the Mission Engineering team to provide SE&I support to the Space and Missile Systems Center RS Directorate (SMC/RS). Major responsibilities of the position include:

* Support the planning and execution of MBSE model development in support of systems engineering objectives and program milestones
* Developing MBSE models to support architecture development and digital engineering initiatives
* Production of model views, including DoDAF products, to support program milestones and documentation
* Enable the generation of systems engineering documentation for requirements, ICDs, systems design, CONOPS, verification and test
* Supporting analysis activities utilizing MBSE models and tool
* Supporting development of study plans for architecture development and special trade studies
* Supporting integration of architectures with other components of the technical baseline
* Collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, or Engineering
* Active Secret Clearance
* 3+ years of demonstrated Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience or a Master's degree in Systems Engineering with emphasis on MBSE
* Knowledge of DoDAF and architecture development
* Report generation out of MBSE tool
* Experience with MBSE modeling tools (Sparx, No Magic) and other MBSE tools to support analysis and visualization
* Understanding of fundamental model development and the application to architecture or system design
* Experience with requirements management in an MBSE tool that includes requirements traceability and verification
* Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and works well in a team environment
* Demonstrated high excellence in verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating across varied and dynamic teams

Desired Qualifications

* Advanced Degree in Systems Engineering, Math, Science, or Engineering
* Experience with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and/or Space-based Weather programs highly desired
* Familiarity with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment, with Space systems (especially at SMC), Space-Based Environmental Monitoring systems, OPIR systems, and ground and space system acquisition
* Active or ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Clearance
