Description
The Remote Sensing (RS) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in El Segundo, CA has an immediate need for a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Engineer with experience in systems engineering, Model Based Systems Engineering and DoDAF product development for the RS Enterprise. Candidate will provide SE&I support to the OPIR and Space Based Environmental Monitoring Enterprise programs in support of the Space and Missile Systems Center RS Directorate (SMC/RS). Major responsibilities of the position include:
* Planning and execution of MBSE development in support of systems engineering objectives and program milestones
* Responsible for the timely delivery of products
* Developing MBSE models to support architecture development
* Production of model views, including DoDAF products, to support program milestones and documentation
* Supporting integration of architectures with other components of the technical baseline (e.g. requirements, CONOPS)
* Enable the generation of systems engineering documentation for requirements, ICDs, systems design, CONOPS, verification and test
* Supporting analysis activities utilizing MBSE models and tools
* Supporting development of study plans for architecture development and special trade studies
* Collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force
Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, Math, Physical Science, or Engineering with a minimum of 12+ years of demonstrated Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience or a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 14+ years.
* Experience with DoDAF and architecture development
* Generation of reports from MBSE tool
* Experience with MBSE modeling tools (Sparx, No Magic) and other MBSE tools to support analysis and visualization
* Understanding of fundamental model development and the application to architecture or system design
* Experience with requirements management in an MBSE tool that include requirements traceability and verification
* TS with the ability to obtain and maintain an SCI clearance
Desired Qualifications
* Advanced Degree in Systems Engineering, Math, Science, or Engineering
* Master's degree in Systems Engineering with emphasis on MBSE
* Experience with OPIR-specific programs highly desired
* Familiarity with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment, with Space systems (especially at SMC), Space-Based Environmental Monitoring systems, OPIR systems, and ground and space system acquisition
* Active TS/SCI Highly Desired
* Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and works well in a team environment
* Demonstrated high excellence in verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating across varied and dynamic teams
