T840, the Modeling, Simulation, Experimentation and Analytics Division seeks a highly motivated leader to fill the position of Department Head for T844 Model-Based Analytics. This is a very technical organization and we are looking for an individual who not only practices interdisciplinary modeling but can also lead technical professionals and projects. The successful candidate will have an advanced degree(s) in an appropriate technical area and at least 5 years of experience leading technical organizations.

Key functions of the T844 Department Head are to:

* Plan, acquire, develop, foster and enable the Department's Workforce

Department Overview

The interdisciplinary staff of T844 use an array of approaches from the fields of data analytics, operations research, modeling & simulation, computer science, and the physical, life, and social sciences to help our sponsors develop a deep, causal understanding of the dynamics of their problems and identify and evaluate potential interventions in rigorous, intuitive, and analytically-defensible ways.

We specialize in building deployable tools that allow sponsors to interact directly with models to develop intuition and explore causality within their domains.

Core Technical Capabilities:

* Complex Systems Modeling and Analysis
* Leverages simulation, optimization, statistical modelling, and machine learning to support decision-making in interconnected systems of individuals, constraints, processes, and policies.
* Computational Social Science
* Models/analyzes social and behavioral dynamics through simulation, network dynamics, and sociocultural data analysis.
* Data Analytics
* Analyzes/visualizes data to enhance domain knowledge and gain understanding of sponsor challenges. Provides descriptive or predictive information to decision makers.
* Interactive Visualization and Prototyping
* Leverages cutting-edge technologies to create intuitive, lightweight applications that make models and data analysis more accessible to sponsors.

Master's Degree preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS and 15 years of related experience.
