Performs product and component management to ensure technical viability and cost-effectiveness from the point where it is evaluated through implementation and support, to retirement. Uses technical expertise to help business partners and others by answering technical questions regarding the usage, trouble-shooting and functionality of delivery systems products to ensure effective implementation and usage of delivery system products. Applies knowledge of computing systems to choose appropriate troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex, escalated delivery systems problems. Works with appropriate product supplier for enhancements and issues not resolved in-house. Chooses appropriate computing products and methods to ensure requirements are met for security, problem management, capacity/performance management and operational management. Documents resolutions/analyses according to support procedures. The Boeing Company - IT&DA Corporate is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Design & Integration Specialist to support work on various Proprietary Programs located in Seal Beach, CA. This position will be responsible to assist in managing and maintaining various HPUX-Unix-environments located in the Program Areas. The individual will require frequent interaction with customers, subcontractors and teammates in support of Program Mission Operations. Position Responsibilities: Plan, execute and implement new (User) application software, new system hardware and software Investigate, analyze and resolve MS Windows and RHEL Linux infrastructure issues Administer and manage Program HPUX-Unix-based Infrastructure. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Program baseline Applications. Perform system and user account maintenance Install, configure, and troubleshoot Program baseline applications and software Test and assess security configuration of HPUX-Unix-based systems Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance Analyze, test and implement security patches and hardening Perform maintenance data collection on the Program Infrastructure Develop disaster recovery procedures Perform firmware version control, preventive and corrective maintenance activities HPUX-Unix Operating Systems Administration, Networking, SAN/NFS Storage, and daily Operations Various Engineering Application Installation, Integration, and Administration Multiple Unix-Shell (CSH, SH) experience Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems - MRP/MTO/Planning/Scheduling/Life Cycle) Applications. This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) The successful candidate will be willing and able to attain a Single Scope Background Investigation and polygraph examination post hire. Required Qualifications: 1+ years of experience with RHEL 7 Operating Systems 3+ years of experience with Windows based operating systems Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) 1+ years of experience in policies and implementation of Risk Management Framework (RMF) CompTIA Security+ or any other IAT Level II DoD 8570 approved baseline certification (or ability to obtain) Technical Bachelor's Degree or higher Typical Education / Experience: Technical Bachelor's Degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.). Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required. This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
