Position Summary:

The Advisor, Pega Application Development will be responsible to serve as a subject matter expert in developing complex workflows and processes within the Pega development environments to meet project objectives in PBM / Med D Business Area.

Must be able to provide technical direction, within the context of a project team, to meet the needs of internal customers in accordance with enterprise/departmental standards. Interact with technical staff at Pega Systems, Inc. and/or other CVS Health IT partners (internal and external to CVS Health) to ensure delivery of short and long term project/program objectives.

Must be capable of acting as a Project Owner (PO), within the CVS Health System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) construct, to be the technical accountable party for Pega activities for which (s)he may be responsible.

Must be able to operate in a dynamic environment that demands an ability to prioritize and decompose projects to meet aggressive timelines. Must be capable of writing custom Pega code to meet the needs of project objectives.

Must also be able to be an escalation point for production support staff requiring assistance in troubleshooting Pega issues.

Work off hours and 24/7 on call as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Partner with the business to understand the detail of how that business works, and where IT can help support their needs.
* Work with IT systems subject matter experts to develop solutions to support business needs.
* Communicate and apply project standards as per the Program Life Cycle and assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
* Consistently deliver high quality services to customers and manage customer expectations effectively.
* Communicate effectively with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management.

Required Qualifications

* 8+ years of professional work experience in IT field
* Good understanding of Pega Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Rules Engine (BRE)
* 3+ years experience with Pega Rules Process Commander (PRPC)
* Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA)
* 2+ years in product development life cycle experience from definition to deployment and system integration knowledge
* Experience in building and supporting complex Tier 1 applications.
* Experience in software design guidance including architecture, performance, re-usability and maintenance considerations.
* Experience in migrating legacy operations to future state.Thorough knowledge of various programming concepts, procedures and practices.
* Experience with programming concepts, procedures and practices
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent analytical ability

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior experience in Healthcare, PBM and Medicare Part D is a plus.
* Prior experience in DB2 Database design and SQLs is a plus.
* Prior experience in IBM WebSphere, Java/JEE is a plus.
* Exposure to Agile methodologies is a plus in addition to traditional Waterfall- approach
* Familiarity with pharmaceutical and healthcare data sources and sales/marketing processes. Comprehensive understanding of services oriented architecture and customer focused concepts

Education

Bachelors degree required.
