Job Description

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Market Data Reliability Engineer to join our Production Engineering team. The Market Data Reliability Engineer will also be supporting our Historical Market Data Simulation team.

The Production Engineering division is responsible for providing innovative processes and tools for the operation of Tower's trading platforms. The Historical Market Data and Simulation division is responsible for the collection, storage, and delivery of historical market data recordings as used in simulation, backtesting, and predictive signal modeling by Tower's trading teams.

Responsibilities

* Collaborating with development groups for long-term engagements
* Partnering with our Historical Market Data and Simulation team to develop their platform, including, automation, CI/CD, configuration management, and integration with public cloud
* Providing support to various clients (trading teams and other IT groups) as the platform scales
* Detecting and remediating production issues as they arise
* Improving release deployment and change management
* Automating data reliability and quality management
* Generating derived datasets
* On-boarding vendor datasets to Tower on premises and public cloud storage systems
* Populating and maintaining historical market data indexes, data, and metadata in databases
* Managing the lifecycle of reliable market data
* Tracking data usage and data access performance

Qualifications

* A bachelor's degree in engineering or science degree (master's preferred)
* Working knowledge of Python or another programming language
* Experience with datasets and data transformation pipelines
* Understanding of principles automation, monitoring, and reliability engineering
* Strong scripting skills
* Knowledge of SQL databases
* Operational experience with cloud providers, such as, AWS or GCP
* Experience with Docker/Kubernetes or other containerization technologies
* Familiarity with microservices
