Manager, Technical Project Management-1902009

Description

The Manager, Technical Project Management defines, leads, and manages all aspects of the project, scope, budget, financial forecasting, scheduling, resources, and quality control of work products following company's PMO standards and governance guidelines and project management best practices.

* Actively engages with peers, architects, designers, general contractors, facility management and internal project team to ensure a seamless and complete solution


* Collaborates with clients, team members, vendor management, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and end user groups throughout project design, bid and installation phases


* Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time


* Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center areas.


* Risk management to properly identify risks on time, propose strategies, workaround and risk mitigation actions proactively


* Project plan preparation from high level to technical details level, plan and estimate milestones/activities (effort/duration) and identify role/skills set per activity (system, OS, middleware..)


* Strong organization skills (document, log and track actions, issues...)


* Coordinates and Manages IS teams to complete hardware & software installations


* Adhere to budget, accurate product specifications, and final pricing and specifications for projects


* Document meeting minutes and decisions, and tracks and manages project risks and issues


* Evaluates performed processes, work products, and services against the application process descriptions, regulations, standards, and procedures


* Manages communication of progress/status within the core team and partners; escalate issues as necessary.


* Manages cross-functional teams and multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously


* Meets with key stakeholders to understand business goals, feature requirements, and technical capabilities


* Prepares project costs and schedules estimates, and presentation materials, to support approvals


* Provides schedule development, maintenance, performance and validation, and analysis for a specific project


* Tracks release milestones and schedules for the many moving parts that need to come together


* Directs and reviews the work of the team and provides training to enhance knowledge and skills.



Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree; business administration, computer science or equivalent, or equivalent work experience


* 3-5 years; Experience managing technical teams


* 5-9 years; Experience in all phases of the engineering lifecycle including: requirements; architecture; design; implementation; testing; and operations and maintenance


* 5-9 years; Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution


* 5-9 years; Experience with technology, infrastructure and application development, security and development tools in an ITIL environment


* 5-9 years; Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS)


* 5-9 years; IT project management experience in an enterprise environment


* 5-9 years; managing technology projects a portfolio of concurrent programs at various stages of execution.


* Understanding of concepts: Clustering, High Availability, Load Balancing, Virtualization, Monitoring, Disaster Recovery, Production/Pre-Production/Certification/Development Environments, Software Lifecycle, Change Management, Vulnerability/Patching/Hardening


* Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred


* Bilingual (Spanish) preferred


* Advanced MS Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)


* Ability to take complicated technical problems and synthesize them into their key points


* Comfortably interacts with individuals at all levels within an organization


* Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex systems


* Knowledge of relevant server-side tools and technologies


* Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner


* Thorough knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls. Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.


* Probes for additional information, clarifies assumptions and confirms agreed-upon actions


* Keeps everyone involved informed about progress and issues


* Creates a good working environment in the team; works towards shared goals contributing ideas and accepting change


* Provides assistance and coaches less experienced team members


* Establishes rapport with all parties in an attempt to diffuse tension


* Confronts the issue, not the person


* Follows through to meet commitments to others


* Takes responsibility for achieving strong results, despite balancing multiple complex demands


* Can identify and speak to major operational issues across the organization
