Job summary

The Red Hat CloudForms team is looking for an Manager to join us in Mahwah, NJ. In this role, you will build, organize, and manage a globally distributed engineering team. You'll also participate in creating team structure, team performance reviews, and coaching and mentoring team members. As a Manager, you will suggest improvements to Red Hat's internal processes and develop new and innovative solutions to technical issues on a daily basis.

Primary job responsibilities

* Establish and manage the team's yearly hiring plan and financial plan
* Prioritize and manage the work by setting a roadmap and goals
* Manage and grow a motivated, engaged, and effective team
* Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to increase your team's capabilities
* Implement ongoing quality improvement processes working with cross-functional teams
* Maintain product consistency throughout product cycle, including the design, definition, and build phases through quality checkpoints and testing
* Ensure delivery against established goals and objectives
* Work cross-functionally within other teams and stakeholders; foster collaboration with other teams

Required skills

* Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
* 5 years of experience managing, guiding, and mentoring a team of engineers, preferably a globally distributed team
* Ability to program in Ruby on Rails or Python
* Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
* Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and work under pressure
* Ability to learn and apply new skills and processes quickly
