Our lead program targeting the blood diseases β-thalassemia and sickle cell disease has entered clinical testing, and our immuno-oncology programs, focused on CRISPR/Cas9-edited allogeneic CAR-T cell therapies, have the potential to deliver a new generation of cancer therapies to patients.

Job Summary

The Manager/Senior Manager, Network & Storage Engineering will have an opportunity to help build and shape the long-term strategic roadmap for IT systems with an emphasis on security, scalability and innovation. You will be a partner in a position to bring about change in a quickly growing company. You will start with the fundamentals of infrastructure, networking and data security then influence how we manage systems in the cloud and on-premises, operate in a regulated environment and support new business units. Your experience in biotech/pharma companies will ensure delivery of highly available, highly resilient systems and technologies to support a compliant pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

* Have complete knowledge of our data center, cloud-based systems, network architecture and critical applications. This is a key responsibility for effectively leveraging current investments and planning for significant transitions
* Implement the backup strategy and business continuity plan
* Take the lead on securing our high value data and high value users, make key decisions on IT investments that bolster our defenses, implement changes that improve detection, monitoring and response management
* Perform network and security assessments, including gap analysis using information gathering tools
* Provide technical analysis of existing technology in the CRISPR environment and present modernized networking and security solutions and define features and capabilities according to requirements
* Stay up to date on emerging technologies and products, including attaining certifications and participation in industry events
* Work with CRISPR IT leadership to accomplish both company and department goals
* Define best practices and deliver technology solutions in a timely and effective manner
* Provide clear communication with regular updates and reports



Minimum Qualifications

* BS in Computer Science or related field required
* Minimum of 7-10 years of hands on architectural design, deployment and configuration of networking technologies specific to routing, switching and security
* Comprehensive knowledge of essential IT functions including: network infrastructure, storage, servers, databases, cloud computing, data center operations, disaster recovery, security, and vendor management
* Experience with large enterprise designs, architecture, deployment and configuration with physical and virtual appliances.
* Knowledge of cloud/virtualization technologies, such as VMware/vSphere/vCloud/EC2
* Thorough understanding of cloud computing and XaaS
* Proven experience managing and leading IT teams consisting of onsite resources, contractors, consultants and managed services providers
* Proven experience implementing disaster recovery strategies
* Proven experience migrating/upgrading technologies enterprise-wide
* Ability to complete large complex projects independently
* Strong communication skills both written and oral
* Superior organizational, planning and project management skills
* Ability to follow good documentation practices and standards

Preferred Qualifications

* Some knowledge of IT qualification and compliance
* Some knowledge of R&D systems in the pharma space preferred
* Security certification such as CISSP or CISM preferred
* CCNP level certification in Routing/Switching
