Summary of Position

The Manager, IT Innovation will be responsible for creating and pursuing strategies that can have meaningful impact on top and bottom line financial results, as well as enhancing the overall guest experience, and productivity of the restaurant. This position will work closely with the brand's leadership team in integrating and leveraging existing and innovative technologies with new business strategies and tactics. This role will be responsible for advancing and forwarding California Pizza Kitchen's use of technology, especially as it relates to guest facing applications (examples include: handheld POS systems, geo-tracking / geo-fencing technologies, order ahead, advanced mobile app functionality, kitchen productivity technology, etc.). Works closely with the CEO, CIO and Strategy SVP to identify future trends and innovations that will impact our industry as well as our brand.

Overall Responsibilities and Duties

* Work with both Senior-level Executives across functions to develop near and long term vision and roadmaps, as well as with the Restaurant Systems team to incorporate and test the appropriate technology to achieve the desired end results.
* Provide thought leadership on structuring complex, ambiguous business problems and bring fact-based, leading edge thinking, frameworks and business tools to the organization.
* Lead technology focused projects with cross-functional stakeholders across levels without direct reporting line for successful design and implementation.
* Develops project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure functional and technical feasibility.
* Partner with analytics teams to design compelling analyses and build business cases to inform strategic tradeoffs and decisions.
* Develop high-impact presentations for Senior-level Executive audiences to influence action on strategic recommendations.
* Explores and researches trends, innovations, emerging technologies and business opportunities that align with the corporate strategy.
* Translate strategy into specific business initiatives and develop tools to measure and evaluate the benefits.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Work Experience

* Restaurant industry experience is not required, but is highly preferred - especially as it relates to bringing industry leading innovation to the forefront.
* Bachelor's degree is not required but is preferred.
* Process-oriented and has a good understanding of cost controls and financial management as it relates to the hospitality industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and knowledge of evolving trends in hospitality, technology and innovation
* Broad knowledge and understanding of the business processes within a restaurant, retail or hospitality company with a track record of delivering innovative products
* Knowledge and application of a Software Development Life Cycle to multiple projects is required
* High-energy, passionate and a proven track record of developing and implementing strategies
* Ability to understand, organize and communicate complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to a variety of audiences
* Excellent communication and facilitation (oral, written & listening)

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to computer terminals. The noise level and temperature is moderate. The employee has the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours a day. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend or kneel, lift up to 40 lbs. and perform other diverse physical tasks as needed. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb on roof through the roof hatch and ladder and open up all roof top equipment to inspect for preventative maintenance. Must be able to climb a ladder inside the restaurant to look above the ceiling for inspections, must be able to look into, bind and under all equipment.
