About Comcast IPCDN:

IPCDN / Traffic Control, is aquasi startupdivision within Comcast's Technology and Product Division and spun out from IP Video and online projects originated within Comcast Interactive Media is based in downtown Denver, CO. We are an open source based (Want to learn more? Visithttps://trafficcontrol.apache.org/), IP content delivery infrastructure that's been built to deliver a broad mix of on-demand video, live TV streams and an assortment of other digital media to an array of connected devices in the home.

The ideal candidate has prior work experience inan DevOps/Operations role.

This role reports to theSenior ManagerofCDNOperations

Responsibilities:

* Manage a team ofSREsin ourKanbanoperations environment, contributing to the creation of a massively scalable, highly available IP Video Platform


* Promote a collaborative environment that fosters creativity & innovation


* Work closely with other product owners, staff and enterprise stakeholders to groom, prioritize, andexecuteon the operations backlog


* Providetechnicalleadershipto help ensure the SRE team is continuously heading in the right direction


* Negotiate and set annual goals and quantifiable success criteria with each of your direct reports, supported by periodic meetings to track progress


* Facilitate the submission of well-defined user stories to Engineering by maintaining a dedicated backlog of Operational asks


* Revise processes and tools as needed to support your mission


* Ask insightful questions and leverage team strengths to expose and resolve operational and architectural challenges for video programs


* Identify, communicate & manage dependencies, risks, & mitigation plans


* 24/7 managerial escalation point for break/fix incidents


* Technical working manager(you'll be responsible forworkingwith the engineers to define the best technical path forward for any given problems)


* Occasional travel for cross-team meetings



Qualifications:

* Deep rooted passion and desire for wanting to build highly functioning engineering teams


* 7+ years in software, analytics or data driven business operations.


* Experience developing software for Networking, Web services, DNS, HTTP, and TCP/IP


* Able to flourish in a rapidly changing, matrix environment.


* Able to establish technical credibility quickly to earn trust and results


* Experience with any modern monitoring/alerting tools(Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, etc...)


* 4+years experiencewith infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, puppet, chef, etc...)


* Experience working in and ormanaging hardware in datacenters is a plus


* Genuine curiosity and a proven track record building motivated and collaborative teams


* Effective facilitator withexcellent consensus building skills


* Excellent organizational skills in service to both smooth execution and enterprise-level communications


* Courageous, assertive and determined to remove impediments


* Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills



Nice-to-Haves:

* Familiarity withCDNs and or video delivery technology.


* Development experience (Golang/Perla plus)


* Experience in managing remote teams

We support both legacy QAM Video Delivery and the Next Generation IP Video Platform infrastructure from Content Acquisition to the Player Consuming experiences we control the end-to-end Video delivery platforms.
