Job Description

Amazon's Application Security team is looking for an experienced manager to lead a team which builds solutions to provide secure-by-default protections against common software vulnerabilities.

This is a team of security engineers who find and understand security problems but are motivated by building and fixing as much as they are by breaking. You will focus on solutions which scale to protect as many customers as possible. You will aim to deliver these protections with the minimum of disruption to customer experience. Your team will often deliver these by writing the code, but will also love to partner with other teams who are implementing these protections themselves.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, highly motivated, effective in globally distributed teams, and focused on the development of their team.

* You are an effective communicator who engages well with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
* You have experience that shows breadth and depth of security knowledge. You are strong in multiple domains of software security.
* Knowledge of threat modeling and other security risk identification methods.
* Knowledge of software security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
* Experience in providing practical solutions that enable product teams to meet business goals while controlling security risk
* Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
* Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
* Be the glue that is able to understand, plan, and manage the cross-team interdependencies
* Remain flexible to changing priorities, open to new ideas and have Amazon's success firmly in your focus
