MORI Associates is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator/Apache-SQL who will manage the functionality and efficiency of computer systems running on Linux operating systems. Support infrastructure, projects and instrument teams with hardware, operating systems, virtual platforms, and applications. Will also perform Apache Web and Tomcat installation and configuration; Apache Proxy Server Configuration; MySQL DB Install and Configuration; and SSL Cert encryption configuration and troubleshooting.

Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems by following established security protocols and practices. Works with the Computer Systems Engineer to configure the system according to requirements. Analyzes systems and to keep systems current with changing technologies. Installs new software, troubleshoots, grants permissions to applications, and trains users. This job includes analysis, configuration, installations, upgrades, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, compiling, securing and repair of Linux servers in a heterogeneous environment. Will perform system updates, make recommendations on server configurations, and implement changes in multiple environments from test or development to production. It also includes creating scripts using various languages to include Bash, Python, PHP, and will automate various tasks in multiple environments. Systems Administrators respond to alerts, customer reported issues, escalate problems as required, and resolve significant matters exercising independent judgment and within established support practices. Also will perform the following responsibilities:

* Address and resolve complex OS issues
* Ensure software and hardware function as required
* Ensure high availability and resiliency of production systems
* Deploy in physical and or virtual compute environments like VMware
* Harden computer systems consistent with security practices and established guidelines
* Troubleshoot and resolve files service issues with Network File Service and storage with NetApp
* Follow established configuration management requirements;
* Support and travel as required the remote Disaster Recovery facility
* Work with configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet or SaltStack
* Utilize Python or Ruby for automation tasks

Qualifications

B.S. in a related field of study with 4-10 years of related systems admin experience (or, 6+ years of related experience without a degree) including the following:

Possession of a strong command line background in Linux operating systems, like Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS; VMware; NetApp; NFS mounted storage and LDAP. Installation and configuration experience with Apache Web Servers and MySQL is preferred. SSL certification installation and troubleshooting experience desired.
