Basic Qualifications

The successful LINUX Systems Administrator must have:

* Must meet DoD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher
* Hands-on experience with UNIX/LINUX in an Enterprise environment
* Enterprise mangement experience to include LDAP, Configuration Management Tools, DNS, Repo, Backups, Log management
* Troubleshooting experience of Enterprise
* Networking experience of Enterprise to include Cisco and Palo Alto
* Data Center experience
* Shell Scripting experience
* Customer service experience
* Responsive Service Desk experience
* Excellent communications skills
* Ability to multi-task
* Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time, scheduled and unscheduled with short notice
* Must be able to support rotating shifts to include weekends

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a specialized area; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Clearance Requirements:

This position requires a mininmum of an active TS/SCI clearance. Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is actively seeking a LINUX Systems Administrator for our GDMS Cyber Security Group in Arlington, VA. This person will be part of a team that is responsible for LINUX administration of a cross domain enterprise solution product platform supporting end users at the customer facility and performer sites.

Your responsibilities include:

* Red Hat LINUX command level administration
* Trusted Network Environment (TNE) Pitbull command level administration
* Command level troubleshooting of OS and associated hardware/software
* Create and resolve helpdesk action items
* Manage cross domain enterprise level solutions
* Provide on-site technical solutions
* Install, move and or break-down systems
* Create detailed technical reports and metrics
* Provide detailed technical solutions
* Perform system builds
* Maintain the security and stability of cross domain solutions
* Interact with customers
* Create, modify, and remove user accounts
* Perform Linux audit and reporting tasks
* Command level Database troubleshooting, including SQL, skills highly desirable
* Provide fly-away support as needed
