Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Minimum 3 years of experience performing development and deployment activities on a private/public cloud solution or a comparable high availability environment
* Experience automating tasks in Bash, sh, Python, or another scripting language
* Experience with patching servers/virtual machines (RedHat Satellite preferred)
* Familiarity working in environments with multiple levels of firewalls, routing, and network ACLs
* Able to help build and maintain different enterprise scale applications and ensure best practices are being used in an AWS / Linux Environment
* Ability to find solutions and troubleshoot problems that occur in a cloud environment
* Has experience using code to build and maintain infrastructure and using enterprise quality tools to ensure stability and performance of applications
* Experience working with AWS GovCloud and/or C2S environments

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Linux Cloud Ops/ Platform Systems Administrator. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The team this position supports is leading a large government organization's move into the cloud. The goal is to provide the tools, technology, and blueprints to enable the organization to easily, quickly, and securely transition to the cloud and adopt best practices. This team is filled with VERY experienced individuals that are always looking at technology trends to improve effectiveness.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A strong candidate will have these skills:

* Comfortable coding / troubleshooting shell scripts


* Comfortable in Linux, able to build or troubleshoot systems


* Comfortable with and knows base AWS services well (EC2/EBS/S3/VPC/NACLS/SG/RDS)


* Works wells with others

* Comfortable using code to build servers in AWS


* Has worked securing Linux Systems


* Has experience working in high scale environments


* AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator Certifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform daily application updates and maintenance functions
* Respond to Tier 3 and Tier 4 trouble tickets
* Open trouble tickets and respond to trouble calls
* Respond to management system alerts
* Deploy monthly security patches and updates
* Respond to after-hours trouble calls
* Support annual FISMA and NIST security requirements
* Participate as a member of a small, multi-disciplinary team that works cooperatively to ensure supported applications are available to support the customer mission
* Become familiar with other team responsibilities to enable acting as backup/augmentation as required
* Install, configure, operate, and maintain integrated systems to support mission operations

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Participate in the architecture development and design of AWS cloud migrations
* Manage Amazon Web Service Cloud environments leveraging services such as VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.
* Supports engineering solutions for cloud or on-premises development and production platforms
* Scalability
