Organization Description

Altarum Institute, an accredited ACCME and ABMS Portfolio Provider located in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and self-motivated technology professional to join our team as a full time Administrator of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Learning Management System.

Altarum's expertise is in Performance Improvement initiatives that show measurable and sustained improvement in outcome measures and provide valuable MOC Part IV and performance improvement (PI) credit to participants.

General Description

* The LMS Administrator's primary responsibility is to optimize and increase adoption of the system with staff and serve as primary contact for the LMS host
* E-Learning subject matter expert who provides insights and best practices related to e-learning subjects across the organization

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

* Administrate LMS system and provide technical support, system use training, data analysis, and learning activity reporting to staff, compliance auditors, and clients.
* Ensure the system management and training content is consistent with, and supporting of, company legal, regulatory, and compliance policies and procedures-updating them as needed
* Coordinate and continuously improve LMS administrative processes and activities to create the best possible learning experience for users
* Interface with all levels of staff in a support role
* Evaluate staff and client needs to recommend solutions, features, and options to maximize efficient and effective usage of the LMS

Online Education Responsibilities

* Interpret learning requirements and translate into a workable framework of events, materials, and programs
* Support learner accessibility and promote efforts to improve user experience
* Design, develop, and edit courses with authoring software such as Storyline or Captivate
* Measure effectiveness of training and learning solutions using evaluation and data analysis
* Manage user registrations and course permissions
* Perform tests and quality assurance checks to ensure offerings function properly once launched
* Monitor evaluation processes ensuring completion within given timeframes

LMS Administrator Responsibilities System Maintainer

* Continually analyze processes and make recommendations for improvements, working on implementation of new products, services, and/or modules
* Monitor and maintain roles and permissions
* Oversee the general policies and procedures related to LMS usage and privacy and ensure compliance
* Improve, update, and maintain LMS structure
* Modify LMS theme to fit business development goals
* Create and modify programs, categories, and courses

Data Design & Maintenance

* Ensure regulatory compliance needs with data accuracy and integrity
* Create structures to ensure data reports conform to specific formats required by accreditation agencies for upload to their proprietary systems
* Report, analyze, and distribute LMS data to internal stakeholders
* Maintain consistency and semantic naming around LMS elements
* Maintain data integrity related to uploads and inputs from 3rd party systems and software

Technical Assistance/Subject Matter Expert

* Troubleshoot staff system and course issues
* Manage technical support, issue tracking, resolution, and/or escalation with LMS host
* Liaise with LMS host to understand how to continuously integrate and align with business priorities and initiatives
* Provide guidance on implementations and upgrade needs/future functionality
* Train and mentor LMS managers on reporting and administrative tasks
* Work with staff to ensure proper setup and system support for projects
* Provide technical assistance to all LMS users
* Develop technical documentation for user procedures
* Lead design of LMS-related system and process workflows

Qualifications Necessary Skills

* Highly technology-literate and can quickly learn new applications, software, and tools
* Keep up on industry trends and best practices
* Knowledge of and proficiency in research, analysis, and reporting methods
* Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
* Knowledge of adult learning theory
* Design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning using instructional design methodologies
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct research into technical issues
* Provide a positive and proactive approach to help users with issues
* Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities
* Can work under tight deadlines while planning, organizing, and carrying out multiple, detailed tasks
* Can self-manage time and multiple priorities
* Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills to present technical ideas in plain language
* Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
* Demonstration of high personal standards of performance and integrity

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree
* 3-5 years of work experience administrating an LMS
* Experience administrating Moodle and/or Totara platforms is preferred
* Highly desirable experience includes:
* Accredited Continuing Education online program creation and maintenance
* E-learning course authoring in Storyline, Captivate, etc.
