Introduction

Your Role and Responsibilities

The mission of the IBM Leadership Development organization is to develop leaders who inspire IBMers and our clients and who help to create a company that is seen as essential to our clients and to the world. The purpose of the Leadership Development organization is to help IBM leaders deepen their leadership capabilities, be change catalysts and coaches, successfully transition into new leadership roles, and lead IBM's acceleration in the marketplace. We provide an end-to-end leadership journey from the time IBMers are identified as having manager potential through the most senior leadership positions in IBM. These journeys include signature experiences, characterized by practical, authentic, and inspiring programs delivered in partnership with line leaders and founded in IBM Values and the latest leadership topics. We use social business and technology as key delivery methods, and restless reinvent what we do-redesign aging programs and revitalize classic programs.

We are looking for a professional in leadership development to build on our legacy of excellence; focusing on enabling those leaders who have expressed an interest in becoming part of our management talent pipeline. The successful candidate will use existing programs and create new best-in-class, comprehensive education and experiences to enable a robust career progression model.

The incumbent will need to have a deep understanding of IBM's leadership challenges and draw on the full array of learning and consulting skills to achieve measurable impact. These skills include: facilitation, design, consulting, collaboration, and project or program management. Experience leading diverse teams to deliver complex projects that span organizations and geographies, written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail are important qualities. Collaborative, social and innovative ways of working and ability to adapt to changing requirements are keys to success.

Primary responsibilities include:

* Create the vision for the overall end-to-end experience or journey of an aspiring manager leader
* Manage program delivery to ensure effective and timely execution of program and project goals
* Lead self-directed, diverse teams in design and develop experiences and programs within the respective segments (e.g., formal programs, continuous learning, experiential development, resources/tools)
* Ensure seamless flow from aspiring leader to new manager, collaborating with other segment teams to align experiences and leverage best practices
* Build relationships and engage with partners across human resources (e.g., HRPs and ES&D Partners) to ensure the experience effectively integrates into business-managed programs
* Be a trusted advisor / consultant to the business by building the necessary relationships to prepare line faculty, influence the education, experiences and exposures available (or which need to be created) to develop our leaders.
* Identify and implement approaches for evaluating the effectiveness and impact, using analytics and social/collaborative tools to gather metrics, soliciting feedback, and enable continuous improvement
* Communicate with teams and across the organization to promote engagement of IBMers in programs and experiences (articulate benefits, celebrate accomplishments, share leader stories, etc.)
* Support wider enterprise programs and leadership experiences.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

* Experience with Design Thinking and agile approaches for design, development and delivery
* Ability to manage programs and projects, and coordinate multiple activities
* Strong written and verbal communication, including use of social platforms and tools to drive awareness and engagement (e.g., blogs, communities) and presenting to groups of different sizes
* Experience leading teams, either as a people manager or a team lead, and strong ability to co-create with others
* Experience in the role of change agent
* Experience advising line and business unit leaders

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise

* Master's Degree in psychology, business or HR related (or equivalent) field
* Experience creating programs and experiences focused on leadership development
* Experience with program evaluation, business analytics and applied measurement techniques
* Understanding of performance assessment strategies and techniques
