The Database Infrastructure and Services team help other teams at FactSet to make effective use of database technologies. This includes research and development of first- and third-party technologies, providing value-added interface layers & functionality as well as providing hosting, tuning, and consulting services for various SQL and NoSQL database technologies.

The Database Infrastructure and Services team are seeking an experienced database architect to help design and build a new data lake, drawing information from numerous industry and proprietary database technologies. The successful applicant will have experience with large-scale data modelling and performance tuning in multiple SQL and NoSQL database technologies along with proven success in large-scale projects.

Requirements:

Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent

Experience working with Apache Spark

Experience working with multiple NoSQL database technologies

Experience working with SQL

Experience of data modelling for large datasets

Experience of performance tuning data models and queries

Experience migrating and deploying databases in a Cloud environment

Excellent communication skills

Self-disciplined and highly motivated

Experience in high transactional production environments
