The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Infrastructure Management & Support Services (IMSS) program supports the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection in protecting consumers and enforcing consumer protection laws through a set of integrated Information Technology (IT) services. This Task Order will help ensure the effective operations and maintenance of the Information Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure. Based in Washington D.C, this role provides technical expertise in storage engineering, administration, and operations. This role maintains enterprise storage infrastructure to ensure proper configuration, availability, performance, capacity, and maintenance (including application of the latest patches and upgrades). This role monitors technology obsolescence, manages upgrades, and evaluates alternatives across on-premises and cloud IT infrastructures, both virtual and physical. This role monitors operations and collects and evaluates metrics to manage storage services and for inclusion into project KPIs and Service Level Agreements (SLA). This individual performs risk assessment, risk mitigation analysis, vendor trade studies, and appropriate documentation to ensure storage services are available according to established Service Level Agreements (SLA). This role ensures continuity of operations including disaster recovery. This role will also support investigations, propose and assist in implementing improvements in process efficiencies and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) compliance, as well as infrastructure modernization through technology and cloud services.

Primary Responsibilities

* Architecture, design, installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of storage, including associated hardware and cloud resources. This infrastructure includes on-premises and cloud resources.
* Duties include updating to new technologies, tuning performance, allocating storage space, and prioritizing the implementation of critical system patches.
* Perform remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications.
* Manage vendors; perform storage assessments and security audits.
* Document existing systems architecture and technology portfolio.
* Facilitate, lead and document meetings and discussions.
* Mentor and coach junior team members; continuously develop your skills and knowledge.
* Act as a liaison between IT management, Engineering and Operations.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience in information technology, computer science or related field.
* 5+ years experience with NetApp SAN design, implementation and administration.
* Extensive experience with Data ONTAP.
* Knowledge of protocol configuration for CIFS, iSCSI, NFS, and fiber channel.
* Working experience with VMware, VM snapshots, VM tools, and logs.
* Experience developing methodologies and presenting solutions to problems.
* On-call troubleshooting experience with NetApp support.
* Experience with and knowledge of Windows server, VMWare, Unix/Linux and networking
* Experience supporting a broad range of assignments requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
* Knowledge of Lean/Continuous Service Improvement.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to troubleshoot issues using network analysis tools such as SolarWinds.
* Strong customer service focus and experience with end users.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience applying expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
* Experience contributing to deliverables and meeting performance metrics.
* Experience with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure.
