Job Description

Overview

The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for building Store Solutions that support The Vitamin Shoppe Retail business. Your role is to architect and implement solutions that optimize our associates (Health Enthusiast) and enhance the customer experience.

We are looking for someone who enjoys technology development and is passionate about trying new approaches and patterns. A leader who understands retail and the expectations of today's shopper combined with proven software engineering skills. This is an excellent opportunity to build a development team from the ground up.

You will leverage some package software solutions from Aptos for POS, Mobile POS, Sales Audit, and CRM.

Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain automated builds and deployment patterns
* Develop test automation and design patterns for continue integration
* Deliver quality design and development solutions
* Perform troubleshooting and investigation of business, data or technical issues as they might arise
* Provide accurate project/task time duration estimates and statuses to team and project management
* Develop adequate documentation for other engineers as a part of development lifecycle

Qualifications

Required Skills:

* 10+ years of Professional Software Engineering experience
* SCRUM/Agile software development experience (Agile environment)
* 3+ years of technical team leadership experience
* Demonstrated expertise in:
* Enterprise .Net applications
* Strong Application Security postures
* RESTful APIs / microservices
* Cloud Native architecture
* Continuous Integration and DevOps
* Deployments in AWS, Azure, or GCP
* Strong Application Telemetry / Automation
* Working knowledge of POS and Payment solutions desired
* Experience implementing and running a continuous integration environment
* Demonstrated understanding of OWASP Security Compliance
* Test Driven Development (TDD) experience
* Experience performing code reviews
* Experience with front end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, Angular) a plus

Education:

* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
