As the Lead Security Engineer, you will be a full-stack engineer contributing to our diverse application codebases. This is a hands-on coding role as well as a security leadership role reporting directly to the Senior Director of Engineering. You will be a dedicated engineering resource responsible for the security of our application.

What you'll do:

* Monitor industry sources for new vulnerability announcements and evolving best practices.
* Respond to vulnerabilities discovered by prototyping changes to application code, working with application engineering teams to review those fixes, and ultimately deploy them to production.
* Implement solutions for continual security analysis and patching of all of our services as part of our CI processes.
* Work as an engineering resource for product feature work, for projects that improve application security.
* Partner with Customer Success and Data Engineering teams to understand data patterns and trends, and develop solutions to respond to attacks.
* As a team lead: prioritize the security backlog, manage a team responsible for functions such as compliance, application security, and system/network security.

What we're looking for in you:

* You are passionate about security and care about implementing best practices in the industry.
* Ability to jump in to any codebase to figure out how it works, and prototype or estimate solutions to security problems.
* Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
* Background as a security engineer or a full stack engineer with interest in network security and application security.
* Experience with Python, PHP, Java, or similar language.
* Experience working in a dynamic/Cloud environment and consumer web property is a huge plus.
* Self-starter with the the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
