Lead, Full Stack Software Engineer

As a Capital One Lead or Sr. Manager Full Stack Software Engineer, you'll work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful services, to back-end Java based systems using the hottest techniques in Big Data.

Ask Yourself:

* Can you dive into a business problem and solve with technology even if you haven't previously worked in that technology solution?
* Are you technically curious and like to be challenged?
* Have you worked with (or want to work with) these Frameworks/Technologies: Java Ecosystem (Spring Boot, Maven, Tomcat etc.), RESTful APIs, AWS (S3, ECS etc.), Kafka, Docker, Angular 2+, Node.js, JavaScript, JUnit, Jasmine, Karma, Microservices, and Machine Learning?
* Are you passionate about engineering and obsess about code quality, performance, and CI/CD?

Responsibilities:

* Take ownership and proactively collaborate with the team to deliver complete solutions
* Recruit, manage, and retain a team of talented engineers
* Mentor less experienced Engineers and lead by example
* Influence peer teams and leadership to ensure our technology culture is one where engineers proudly do their best work every day
* Design, develop and implement new products and/or enhance existing products
* Constantly strive to raise the bar on engineering excellence
* Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
* Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
* Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
* Work with architects to align solutions to a larger IT strategy and technologies such as Machine Learning

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
* At least 8 years of experience in Java development
* At least 4 years of experience developing RESTful APIs
* At least 4 years of experience with JavaScript frameworks
* At least 2 year of experience in Microservices
* At least 2 year of experience with Cloud technology (AWS, Google or Azure)

Preferred Qualifications:

* At least 2 years of experience with Kafka, Spark, and Docker
* At least 5 years of experience with AWS
* Experience working with Machine Learning teams
* Experience leading and managing a Software Development team
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer
