Lead Cable Technician (TS/SCI clearance required)

Job Description

DEI is looking for an energetic, highly-motivated Lead Cable Technician who is experienced in working with the government and can manage and oversee cable techs and multiple cable crews and can make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Experience leading cable crews (10+ techs, multiple teams)
* Work independently or as part of a crew performing various tasks such as pulling, terminating and testing copper and fiber cable, installing cable tray and various other types of cable support hardware
* Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC Standards
* Has working knowledge of EIA/TIA requirements such as distance limitations and pin configurations
* Creates Cut Sheets
* Understand and can implement Cable installation plans (CIPs)
* Rack and stack work, closet work, putting together server racks, patch panels
* Fiber experience including Anaerobic Terminations, SC and LC Connectors, and Splicing
* Ability to read and understand schematic and line diagrams
* Pulling and routing CAT 5 or CAT 6 cable in a government environment
* Terminating phone jacks & data jacks
* Testing cable/troubleshooting networking issues
* Installing support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)
* At least 15 years of experience working as a low voltage cable technician, specifically installing voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
* Ability to Carry and climb and maneuver extension ladder
* Work with hand and power tools
* Complete a quality installation every time
* Accurately complete essential paperwork

BASIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* US Citizen
* Active DoD TS/SCI Security clearance (or higher)
* Bachelors degree with 8 years professional experience; or Masters with 5 years experience
* Present a positive, professional, and courteous image to our customers
* Have a strong work ethic relating to quality and attendance.
* Ability to communicate verbally in the English language
* Excellent customer relation skills
* Ability to learn and adapt very quickly.
* Able leadership skills in a variety of environments.
