Perspecta is an AA/EEO Employer - Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories

Responsibilities:

Perspecta Labs is seeking a researcher for its new and exciting Language & Compiler Scientist role. We are seeking a compiler toolchain expert with research experience. You will contribute on a U.S. government funded research endeavor to extend programming languages, compilers, and hardware to build and deploy computer programs with provable security guarantees. The program effort aims to revolutionize the way the community builds software for multi-level security (MLS) and cross-domain systems by producing software/hardware co-design tools that eliminate much of the complexity in existing DoD and commercial systems. By extending modern languages with syntax to express security intent, developers can code MLS and related programs more efficiently and compile them into separable, concurrent binaries to ensure security-level protections on a single platform.

As a Language & Compiler Scientist for Perspecta Labs, you will contribute towards the design and development of new techniques for expressing security intent in languages, compilation and partitioning of programs, pointer bounds tracking, and execution of such programs on novel hardware platforms. You will contribute as key technical personnel to small and intermediate-sized implementation teams.

Responsibilities:

* Work with a team of premier research scientists towards solving dynamic problems
* Take ownership of modules developed as part of a larger software system and see them to fruition throughout project life-cycle
* Conduct unit, multi-unit, and product testing as needed to evaluate system correctness
* Offer software architectural solutions and implement reliable, robust, well-structured code

Qualifications:

Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.

Minimum:

* MS./Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields

Candidates with experience in any of the following areas will be viewed favorably:

* Expertise in Programming Language development, compilers, and toolchains
* Strong background in LLVM or Golang
* Experience with data-flow and related static analyses
* Computer engineering, device driver, machine code expertise
* Track record of contributions to large open-source projects
