Leidos' Cybersecurity Intelligence and Response Center (CSIRC) has an immediate opening for a motivated Junior Software Developer. In this role, you will work with Cybersecurity Engineers and Analysts in the organization to design, develop, and deploy custom capabilities that cannot be achieved with commercial security products today. As a key part of the team, your responsibilities will include all aspects of the software development lifecycle including work estimation, design, and coding within an Agile and Continuous Delivery model. You will have opportunities to develop custom solutions using modern technologies which include Python, Docker Containerization, Ansible Automation, CentOS/RHEL, Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR), Open Source based Intrusion Detection Systems (OS-IDS), and Open Source Automated Threat Indicators Sharing projects. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug mission focused software utilizing modern software languages and tools, such as Python.
* Participate in the full software development lifecycle, working within broadly defined parameters.
* Use Kanban/Gitlab development operations, collaboration and source control tools.
* Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments. May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.
* Develop and Document custom capability maintenance Processes and Procedures used by operators
* Support creation and updating of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development and testing. Identify potential roadblocks and develop around them.
* Plan and estimate development tasks and work to improve performance metrics.
* Develop maintainable code that matches specification. Perform unit testing of code, including manipulation of data for analysis of system requirements.
* Own delivery of small parts of a system or application. Work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
* Build software solutions where the solution is not always well defined but always considers the customer first.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience as a software developer. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
* The candidate must be familiar with common Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
* Should have programming skills in several of the following programming and markup languages: Python, Bash, C++/Rust, JSON/XML, JavaScript
* Familiarity with DevOps processes and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) principles.
* Must have knowledge of Source Code Management concepts (code lines, branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.)
* Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, interpersonal and team participation.
* Problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills.
* Demonstrate poise and ability to act calmly and competently to technical and non-technical challenges.
* US Citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance.
* Must have strong interpersonal and networking skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in any of the following would denote an exceptional candidate, but are not required:

* Good understanding of cloud technology (AWS), virtualized containers, web-enabled database applications, network security, security engineering, data integrity, intrusion detection, firewall, TCP/IP, virtual private networks, public key/infrastructure/digital signatures, encryption.
* Develop code (e.g., Python) to interact with Rest APIs and API driven security technologies to automate security tasks (e.g., Siemplify, Demisto, Phantom) aimed at removing human errors and human inconsistencies.
* Familiarity databases (NoSQL and Relational) such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite.
* Experience with developing software in the Linux environment (e.g. RHEL, CentOS).
