What we do:

The Technology Group delivers and supports a wide range of applications for various business areas in Federal Reserve Bank of NY. This position is for a Java developer for Markets group business line. The Markets group contributes to the monetary policy and provides financial services to financial institutions and foreign central banks.

Your role as Junior Java Developer:

Technology Group is looking for a java developer to code and maintain applications across the Markets portfolio. The candidate should be able to do analysis, development, testing and deployment of new and existing applications. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and collaborate with various teams to deliver projects with a high level of accuracy and personal responsibility. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Analyze business requirements and come up with a technical solution design.
* Develop, test and deploy code.
* Work with L2 and L3 support teams to debug production issues, identify root causes and provide fixes in a timely manner.
* Stay abreast of the latest developments in the respective technical field and find opportunities to improve design, code and test coverage of existing applications.
* You will be involved in the entire project life cycle (requirements review, migration of existing application code, development, deployment and maintenance).

What we are looking for:

* Strong analytical skills and a problem solving skills.
* Programming skills using Core Java with in-depth knowledge of common APIs and data structures like Collections, Maps, lists, Sets etc.
* Knowledge of Spring Framework.
* SQL query language skills.
* Familiarity with commonly used programming tools like Eclipse, Database tools like SQL Developer, Oracle 12C.
* Familiarity with writing unit tests in Java using Junit.
* Familiarity with Application Servers like WebSphere.
* Experience in SDLC Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or relevant field of work or equivalent work experience.
