Position Overview

Align seeks a motivated Systems Engineer with 1 to 4 years of relevant experience to work with our growing Managed Services Practice. Candidates must have some basic experience working with customers in on-boarding and migrating their systems and data to a managed private or public cloud environment. The ideal candidate should have strong written and verbal skills, strong problem-solving skills, some basic systems design experience and solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows server and technologies, messaging and collaboration systems and Microsoft Cloud (Office 365 and Azure) fundamentals. Candidate should be able to work within a project team under the guidance of senior VMware engineers to deliver future state solution. Knowledge of VMware and Office 365 is highly desired. Any relevant Microsoft certifications (MCSA/MCSE) or Linux (RHEL) experience would be a plus. Strong understanding of financial service vertical is desired.

Responsibilities

* Assist with various implementation projects as they relate to Microsoft and Linux technologies
* Project experience including hands-on engineering and systems deployment of server migrations; Office 365 migrations; and Microsoft Exchange upgrades and systems integrations is required
* Working with various internal groups for seamless transitions from new infrastructure implementations to business-as-usual delivery of products and services
* Follow predefined operating procedures and ensure they are properly followed
* Perform direct follow-up with clients regarding remediation where appropriate
* Interface with other elements of the client support structure including tracking client issues, updating client tickets and ensuring closure
* Assist with client support as needed
* Assist with proposal writing for new business opportunities
* Perform internal training and knowledge transfer
* Documentation of customer configurations (updating CMDB, Visio Diagrams, project deliverables)

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, MIS or a related technical discipline is preferred
* One to four years of relevant hands-on experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Windows Server-based systems is required; some design experience is desired
* Any relevant hands-on experience implementing and supporting Linux-based systems would be beneficial
* Some knowledge of or any relevant hands-on experience performing migration of customer data and applications to managed service environment would be nice to have
* Current Windows certification (MCSA/MCSE) is preferred
* Some hands-on experience with VMware ESX, VDI, Hyper-V or Citrix is required
* Strong foundational knowledge of and hands-on experience working with Microsoft Windows architecture including general knowledge of system management best practices for Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, SQL Server, Active Directory (AD), Group Policy and Remote Installation Services
* Some experience with SCCM and Cyber Security anti-virus programs, SharePoint, messaging security and web monitoring
* Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure, and Amazon AWS
* Any experience with systems management, optimization tuning, High Availability configurations (Microsoft Clustering, etc.) would be beneficial
* Experience with Terminal Services
* Experience with technical documentation for system builds, configurations and support procedures
* Experience with diverse hardware platforms (Dell, IBM, HP, Blades)
* Basic experience with creating Visio to create future state and desired state configuration diagrams
* Project management skills
* Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, DNS, WINS and DHCP
* Knowledge of Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) Toolset
* Willingness to learn networking and storage required
* Deep interest in emerging technologies required
