Job Description

The ideal candidate for this position is interested in a career in Information Technology, focused on SQL development projects. As a SQL Developer within the Information Technology department at the Omni Hotels & Resorts Corporate Office, you will report to the Corporate Director of Business Intelligence and work on projects related to database systems analysis, data integration, ETL and report development, primarily in the Microsoft SQL stack.

Responsibilities

* Follow standard SDLC processes, from requirements gathering, functional design, technical design, system testing, integration testing, deployment and support as they relate to SQL development projects and enterprise data integration efforts.• Engage closely with business partners and report developers to determine business needs and provide expertise to deliver SQL reporting, data analysis and ETL process solutions.• Act as subject matter expert in all areas of SQL report development and data integration.• Support and maintain data integrations in operational data store environments.• Create and maintain SQL development and data integration documentation on our internal wiki site.• Understand components in detail along the data movement lifecycle, including data source interrogation, interface types, network infrastructure and impact, tool design and data processing methods.• Carefully track and document development requests through change management ticketing system.• Pilot and provide proof-of-concept solutions around next-generation business intelligence and analytics tools, specifically in the ETL and data integration space.• Create, modify, read and understand stored procedures.• Gather user requirements and convert business requirements into useful SSRS reports.• Create, modify and troubleshoot SQL jobs.• Develop, optimize and execute complex SQL queries from diverse data sets.

Qualifications

* 3+ years of hands-on experience development Microsoft SQL solutions, including T-SQL/SSRS/SSIS• Experience partnering with business departments, including Finance, Operations, Marketing, Sales and HR.• Analytical thinker with strong problem solving and organizational skills.• Curiosity to investigate sources of data and ability match that data to its related business function.• Strong attention to detail and high quality deliverables.• Team player who is also able to work well independently.• Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.• Excellent communicator with strong written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.• Has a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Management of Information Systems.• Must be able to successfully utilize the following technical tools: SQL Server Management Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integrated Services, Visual Studio and Excel.
