Title - Jr. SW Engineer/Analyst

Location - Merrifield, VA

ALEX is currently seeking a Jr. Software Analyst to work in Merrifield, VA.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

* The candidate will work with our government client to support the project management, testing and evaluation of highly advanced and complex computer software systems
* Some experience with a programming language and virtualization
* Performs software and hardware installation, testing, and deploying
* Performs visual checks of all system components, wiring and status lights
* Provides periodic reports to users and managers of systems status
* Uses change and test management procedures as required
* Develops and provides action plan for resolution of any/all faults detected
* Performs isolation testing of problem equipment and or software
* Provides documentation of all solutions to problems
* Provides and Implements escalation process and or procedures
* Develops, implements and follows the appropriate quality assurance program
* Develops recommendations and procedures for implementation of new hardware/software products and applications, suitable for presentations

Qualifications and Experience:

Required-

* Bachelor's degree (focus in technical field a plus, for example: engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field)
* Knowledge of computer hardware
* Knowledge of computer network and administration
* Knowledge of software development processes
* Some experience with a programming language
* Experience with software testing and software test plan development
