As a Java developer in our innovation team in ASSA ABLOY Shared Technologies, you will work together with creative, curious and competent innovators that together create the next generation of protocols as a core of the access control solutions. What you will be doing

As a Java developer of crypto and protocols at ASSA ABLOY Shared Technologies, you will work together with creative, curious and knowledgeable people like yourself. Your day to day work will consist of a mix of designing and implementing a secure communication protocol for embedded devices, and providing both remote and in person support to developers at other units in ASSA ABLOY as they are using the protocol to build a wide variety of products. You will be working closely with teams in our office in Stockholm and other parts of Sweden as well as with teams working in other parts of the world. You will also perform investigations where you evaluate and/or create different technical solutions in order to find one that is both secure and feasible to implement on an embedded device, as well as quickly review and critically reason about other people's investigations in a group setting.

What we are looking for

Foremost, we think you are an open-minded, curious, team-player who take pride in contributing at a high level and that you are passionate about work. However, programming experience in Java is required, at least 3 years' experience within the backend programming domain. You need to have hands on experience from development of protocols and software architecture, and also some communication models theory from your studies, as well as crypto knowledge. You should also be a good communicator capable of teaching others and explaining complex topics for a wide variety of audiences in both speech and text. You also need to be able to work independently to find the best solution to complex problems and present your suggested solution to the rest of the team. In the role you will develop yourself in both the technical area, but also in way of working and tools while we strive for continuous improvements in everything we do. We have many teams contributing to different products, so over time you can change to other technical roles too.

The ability to work in teams is very important to us, as well as personality with drive, ambitions and energy in daily work. We expect the candidate to have a Master of Science degree, with a master in Computer Science preferred. The project experiences you have gathered during your education and/or via work are important to us.
