Position Description:

CGI seeks a Java Developer to join our team. The Java Developer will interface with the customers and developers supporting a range of software development activities including requirements collection and analysis, software design, implementation, and testing. A background in development experience using Java technologies is critical for this position.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Basic Duties / Responsibilities

* Design, develop, test and integration of custom Java applications and solutions.
* Designs and implements scalable, secure JAVA-based applications.
* Resolve complex design, implementation and performance issues.
* Work with Security to ensure that developed solutions meet all security requirements.
* Support all development and delivery activities, from requirements definition and specification to deployment and delivery to production.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Required Skills

* 6+ years of recent hands-on Java development experience
* 5 years Web application, SOA, web service (SOAP or RESTful ) development and deployment
* Extensive development experience using Java, JEE, Java Frameworks (Spring Frameworks, Hibernate, jQuery)
* Experience in applying Agile development methodology
* Strong interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain an effective working relationships with development teams and customers

Desired Skills

* Java certifications: Certified Professional Java EE Web Component Developer, Certified Professional Java EE Developer, Application Developer, and Certified Master Java SE Developer.

Education and Experience

* B.S. in Computer Science
