Job Title: Java Developer - AML

Location: Midtown NYC

Client: Financial

Contract: Long Term

The Legal, Compliance and Regulatory (LCG) organization provides IT support to the Legal and Compliance division.The IT organization among other things is responsible for the support of the Firm's Anti Money Laundering (AML), Enterprise Client Risk Ranking (ECRR), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) Sanction Screening programs and Negative News Screening programs. The AML, Sanctions Screening & NNS programs are supported by an application suite that enables surveillance of firm and client activity, customer identification, as well as ensuring the Firm's compliance with various regulatory requirements.The AML/ECRR/Sanction Screening/NNS applications process large volumes of disparate data to detect and alert on a variety of suspicious activities. Additionally the collected data is used to support Business Intelligence and Analytics Processes

Responsibilities:

* Candidate will be working on existing and new initiatives within the Sanctions Screening, PEP Screening and Negative News Screening. Initiatives include customizations for evolving business needs as well as architectural and infrastructure improvements.
* Activities include designing, implementing, testing, deploying various applications following department SDLC standards.
* The candidate is expected to be able to communicate well with global teams, adapt rapidly and learn fast.
* Sound judgment will be required to understand complex business use cases, design appropriate solutions, develop the underlying implementation and leverage team's strength for application success.
* Financial domain knowledge, understanding of AML and experience in Financial Crimes tools such as Actimize, RDC, Accuity (Compliance Link, Fircosoft ), Bridger InsightOur current technology stack includes Java, Apache CXF, Hadoop, DB2, Protobuf, etc.
* The team is also utilizing vendor software and open source Java technologies, such as Spring, Hibernate and Apache and other libraries.
* The team incorporates Agile methodologies including Scrum, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in its development processes.
* We are looking for a hands-on technologist who is passionate about technology, has strong experience developing Java-based systems, proactive and team player.

Skills required:

* 8+ years of hands on experience working on Core Java and advanced Java
* Strong Database design skills including SQL, procedures and query tuning
* Experience in Financial Crimes tools such as Actimize, RDC, Accuity (Compliance Link, Fircosoft ), Bridger Insight
* Service Design Concepts, OO and Functional Development concepts.
* High-quality software architecture and design methodologies and patterns, such as SOA, Layered Architecture, and Component-based Architecture.
* Agile Development Methodologies
* DevOps tools & methodologies
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and professional approach

Skills desired:

* RestFul/Web Services, XML, REST, SOAP, JSON
* Big Data (Hadoop) ecosystem knowledge preferable, including Scala and/or Python
* Read and create design and process flow diagrams
* Design Patterns?Linux and Shell Scripts
* Any other scripting languages (PERL, Python etc)
* AI/Client concepts and Risk or predictive analytics knowledge is a plus
