Java Back-End Developer

Position Overview

The Java Back-End Developer will be responsible for:

* Analyzing requirements to determine feasibility of designs
* Ensuring the conversion of requirements, including informal ones, into total systems solutions for supported programs balancing technical capabilities, delivering those capabilities according to schedule, and managing cost constraints of the program
* Actively participate in or lead design and code reviews
* Write real-time/stream/batch processing software
* Develop scalable, web-based data visualization and analytic platforms using Java, Spring, servlets, Extract Transform Laod (ETL) pipelines, microservices, message brokers and scalable database (Hadoop, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL)
* Build and deploy software using Python, Gradle, Docker, Vagrant, Ansible, Maven, and/or Bash.

Required Qualifications

* US citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance
* BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline. (A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.)
* A minimum of 3 years of experience coding in Java
* Experience working in a Linux development environment
* Additional experience with at least one of: deployments (DevOps), databases, or front-end development

Desired Qualifications

* Deployment experience with Ansible, Gradle, Docker, and/or Vagrant
* Structured Query Language (SQL) experience for example with MySQL or PostgreSQL
* NoSQL experience for example with Hadoop, Elasticsearch, or MongoDB
* Spring Boot experience
* Git experience
* Scripting experience for example with Python, Bash, or Shell
* Knowledge of networking concepts including the OSI model
* In addition to back-end experience, front-end (full-stack) development experience with: Angular 7+ and/or React, PatternFly, Clarity, and/or Material-UI\
