Job Summary

The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst's role is to contribute to a team of ITAM Specialists working to assist SHI customers in understanding their Hardware and Software Environments. The ITAM Analyst will join the ITAM Services team and will utilize SHI's best practice procedures, tools and people to assist our customers in controlling their IT costs as well as the associated legal and financial risks. The position reports to the ITAM Services Manager.

It is expected that this role will require occasional travel both nationally and internationally (20%).

Responsibilities/Job Function

Include but not limited to:

* Engage Sales, Licensing, Customers, and Software Manufacturers to help customers collect, organize, and manage customers' licensed software assets.
* Engage and mentor ITAM Administrators into uploading entitlement data into the SHI internal ITAM systems.
* Participate and lead peer reviews to oversee the ITAM Administrator activities, while ensuring the process and quality standards are maintained.
* Organize, normalize and analyzecustomers' contracts, as well as perform quality checks against entered data to ensure it accurately reflects contractual entitlement.
* Apply rules to hardware and software inventory data to establish an accurate and complete summary of software and hardware requirements.
* Permanently update, monitor and quality check customers' data into the SHI internal ITAM systems.
* Compare customers' contractual entitlements against their utilization in order to assess gaps and surpluses in licensing, as well as offer consulting services as to the best practices to optimize their position in order to avoid unnecessary costs.
* Assists the ITAM Consultants with the process of defining the entitlement and inventory scope of customer ITAM data, in order to ensure entitlement and inventory information are properly aligned and consistent.
* Assists the ITAM Consultants with the preparation and presentation of deliverables to customers.
* Assists the ITAM Consultants in communicating accurate and relevant conclusions to customers across the entire life-cycle of an ITAM project. Including producing and presenting analytical results and assuring projects get closed to the satisfaction of all parties.
* Ensures all ITAM projects are conducted professionally, ethically, and in a manner consistent with all SHI standards.
* Executes all ITAM Analyst tasks according to the project plans of all assigned customer engagements.
* Adheres and works to the internal process standards as defines and updated by management.
* Collects and manages ITAM-related information from SHI, customers, and software manufacturers.
* Regularly collects entitlement and contract data (Entitlement Data).
* Analyzes purchase records and other entitlement information (including contracts, EULAs, EAs, PURs etc.).
* Researches and understands Product Use Rights, license allowances, and contractual entitlements for software products and manufacturers (with a specialty in one or more manufacturers).
* Engages and mentors ITAM Administrators to Load/Import/Enter Entitlement Data into SHI's ITAM systems.
* Performs quality checks against entered data to ensure it accurately reflects owned software licenses.
* Assists the ITAM Systems Technicians and Engineers in the collection, cleanse/normalization, and management of hardware & software discovery and inventory information in order to ensure all licensing relevant data points are being collected.
* Defines the entitlement and inventory scope of customers' ITAM data to assure entitlement and inventory information are properly aligned and consistent.
* Researches and understands different publishers' product use rights, license allowances, and contractual entitlements for software products and manufacturers.
* Collects and manages ITAM-related information from SHI, customers, and software manufacturers.
* Interacts with SHI Licensing Executives and software manufacturers to understand different licensing model
* Participates in customer communications across the entire life-cycle of an ITAM project. This includes producing as well as assisting the ITAM Consultant with presenting intermediate and final results and assuring projects are conducted and closed to the satisfaction of all parties.
* Coordinate with service delivery teams in order to communicate project status and ensure project milestones are being met.
* Will travel as required by the role

Qualifications/Minimum Skills Required

The successful candidate will be expected to understand all aspects of the IT life-cycle - from licensing to purchasing to deployment to decommissioning. Be experienced in one or more of the major vendors of either Wintel or Data Centre technology and hold some associated accreditations.

* 1 years of experience within the IT Asset Management field
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Strong entrepreneurial spirit; a desire and willingness to "do whatever it takes";
* Client-oriented, professional services mind-set
* Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
* Good research skills and the ability to manage details;
* Good analytical skills;
* Good written and verbal communication skills;
* A second language (preferably French) will be an advantage;
* Excellent organization and time management skills;
* Ability to think outside the box;
* Ability to stay self-motivated and self-directed;
* Willingness to adapt to changing business and technical priorities;
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance team environment;
* Proven experience in ITAM in a similar or same field

The ideal candidate will hold some or all the following accreditations; if the accreditations are not currently held the successful candidate will be required to study and pass a minimum of three of the following Microsoft accreditations within a short period of commencing the role.
