Job Description

Summary

The IT Technician position at Arlington International Racecourse is responsible for executing the daily functions of the IT department and meeting the needs of end users on the property and the OTB's in the Chicago-Land area. They work collaboratively with the enterprise IT team to ensure that security guidelines and operational standards are met. The goal is to ensure the smooth operations, reliability, and accessibly of computer system resources. Work includes, but is not limited to, back office systems, front of house systems, telecommunications, and networking.

Essential Job Functions

1. Work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure that prioritized tasks and ticket-based requests are being completed on-time.

2. Troubleshoot reported issues in systems ranging from phones to virtualized server environments to Point-of-Sale systems and ticketing systems:

* PC & Cell Phone Hardware troubleshooting
* Application Support:
* Microsoft Office
* Microsoft Lync/Skype For Business
* Symantec Anti-Virus
* Hard Drive encryption
* In-house applications
* Web applications
* Tickets.com applications and Printers
* Browsers (Firefox, IE, and Chrome)


* Operating System Support:
* Windows 7, 10, 2008, 2012, and 2016


* Remote Support:
* RDP, GoverLan, Lync


* VMware:
* Build and configure of virtual servers
* Resource Configurations


* Microsoft Active Directory:
* User and machine object configuration


* Microsoft O365 User Administration
* Microsoft Group Policy Administration
* Printer Support:
* Network printer troubleshooting
* Laser jet and thermal printer hardware Network and Infrastructure


* Wireless network troubleshooting
* DHCP and DNS configuration and support:
* DHCP Scopes:
* Scope creation, reservations, etc..




* DNS Troubleshooting:
* Forward and reverse lookups
* Scavenging
* Non-Technical:
* Customer Service:


* Internal customer service skills (employees)
* External customer service skills (patrons)
* Labor:
* Lift/carry 50lbs
* Walk or stand for four hour shifts



3. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

4. Reliable transportation required to work at area OTB's from time to time, as required.

Job Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED
* Must have a minimum of three years' experience in IT systems or network/server administration.
* Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and licensing within assigned state of employment
* Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain a valid racing and/or gaming commission license within the assigned state of employment
* Available to work a schedule that aligns with the racing calendar including approximately 20 Weekends (Saturdays and/or Sundays), and Holidays over the course of a calendar year.
* Must successfully pass background check
* Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
* Must be twenty-one (21) years of age

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
