Position Summary: The IT Systems Engineer is a key member in a small IT Team in which they support the day-to-day activities of users, perform system maintenance and upkeep of Information Technology and the design, development, documentation and deployment of IT solutions. The candidate will have responsibilities to support IT technology that will cover a wide array of competencies such as data administration, knowledge management, customer service, technical support, network services, system administration and systems security analysis. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have well balanced systems design, implementation, and troubleshooting skills. A self-starter with the ability to rapidly learn and familiarize themselves with a complex environment is essential.

Essential Functions: (Core duties or tasks that are fundamental and not marginal to the performance of the job)

* Hands on experience with the implementation and administration of the following technologies:
* Azure AD / Active Directory w/ AD Services (DNS, DHCP, GPO Management) Systems administration using PowerShell
* Office 365 Exchange and related protocols (SMTP)
* Email security / threat protection and hygiene services (TLS, Digital Signatures, Phishing and SPAM prevention (Mimecast experience preferred)
* Office 365 Productivity Suite, SharePoint (including site creation and maintenance), OneDrive, Microsoft Teams
* Functional understanding of networking concepts; routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, proxy services, & protocols (TCP, UPD, HTTP, TLS, SIP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP).
* Investigate and research complex technical information on applications or network issues as needed to resolve problems.
* Analyze and evaluate agency requirements for implementation, identify future areas of improvement and mitigate future potential issues.
* Developing testing environments for maintaining and updating desktop images as new operating systems of software versions are released. Symantec Ghost Imaging experience preferred.
* Responsible for day to day support and maintenance of IT infrastructure systems (e.g. servers, workstations, switches, routers, intrusion prevention systems, encryption devices).
* Ensure all devices are under configuration management, receive updates, and maintain operational readiness.
* Provide technical support to the IT Help Desk staff as needed. This includes but is not limited to troubleshooting and resolving computer hardware or software issues, configuring security settings or user access permissions, installing required agency applications or network software, maintaining user accounts and shared documents, updating inventory information and floor plans. Provide back up for help desk staff as needed.
* Provide advice and guidance to colleagues regarding technical incidents.
* Candidate will be responsible for creating new documentation and maintaining the current knowledge. base. Excellent written and verbal technical communication required.
* Work closely with other members of the team on corporate initiatives.
* Proficiency to handle project work in a team environment.

Qualifications: Must have a 4 year college degree in computer science or similar discipline. 3 Years Progressive experience in a Systems Admin/Engineering or Technical role.

Hours: 37.5 per week
