Overview

Position Title: IT Support Specialist

Hours: Full Time

Location: Crystal Lake, IL

Department: Facility

Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000

Support, install, maintain, and troubleshoot standard PC hardware and peripherals, local data center / servers support and software applications, including card access system, telecommunications systems, presentation systems, and network infrastructure for local site. Resolve user and system problems. Analyze, configure, install, maintain, and monitor network problems to other computing environments; perform related work as required. Coordinate and interface with Corporate IT, Security, and other departments as necessary to support local facility infrastructure. Provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements (performance improvements/enhancements and cost benefits).

Responsibilities

* Provide local IT support for in-house and remote employees of the Crystal Lake site
* Design, create, implement, and maintain custom software images for each business unit as required within the corporate standards
* Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, servers, network infrastructure, telecom infrastructure, software applications, and local shared drives
* Serve as liaison between Crystal Lake facility and corporate IT
* Communicate known IT issues, required updates, and solutions to Crystal Lake business units
* Test, install, and maintain specific client applications using various software packages within corporate standards as directed by the business unit
* Responsible for maintaining data center within corporate specifications
* Develop system to inventory and tracking of non-desktop assets
* Recommend, specify, and purchase equipment and software
* Provide on-call support 24/7 for Crystal Lake facility
* Maintain back-up and restoration processes for local servers
* Validate process


* Collaborate and coordinate with other sites as needed
* Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

* Education: Computer Science degree or equivalent experience preferred
* Years of Experience: 2 - 5 years' experience along with demonstrated proficiency in computer hardware and software applications knowledge
* Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) preferred
* A+ Core Cert certification for PC hardware servicing or equivalent preferred
* Ability to travel out of state
* Strong technical and analytical skills to evaluate and resolve various computer, server, network, hardware, applications, and telecommunications problems
* Effective professional interpersonal skills with co-workers, vendors/contractors, and all levels of management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organizational and coordination skills
* Strong ability to simultaneously manage and track multiple projects, tasks, and vendors
* Experience providing support and troubleshooting via remote desktop applications
* Familiarity with the following applications: Paperwise, Enghouse Touchpoint, Verint Impact 360, Mindbreeze, Microsoft Office.
