The incumbent of this position will be a member of the Headquarters Cyber Security Team, and report to an assigned Supervisory IT Specialist in the Government Security Operations Center (GSOC) within the Department of the Treasury's, Departmental Offices, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary and Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

Responsibilities

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

* Provide active coordination with the OCIO leadership team on cyber security issues and policies as they relate to the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002, OMB Circular A-130, Director of National Intelligence and Department of Homeland Security Directives, and NIST, NSA, and CNSS security standards and guidelines.
* Take an active role in advising the Associate Chief Information Officer for Cyber Security (ACIO-CS), ACISO-SO and other senior leadership within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) in developing, promulgating and implementing objectives, principles, policies, procedures and standards associated with the IT Cyber Security of the Department.
* Assist in providing guidance and leadership to support and implement a disciplined cyber security management strategy which focuses on managing risk and optimizing cost-effectiveness for the Treasury OCIO.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-14 you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

* Experience supporting cyber security operations in a leadership capacity; AND
* Experience directing the execution of computer security incident response procedures; AND
* Experience providing technical expertise in the area of computer network defense to include network intrusion detection, network event analysis and correlation, and network flow analysis.

Specialized experience: For the GS-13 you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

* Experience directing the execution of computer security incident response procedures; AND
* Experience providing technical expertise in the area of computer network defense to include network intrusion detection, network event analysis and correlation, and network flow analysis

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
