IT SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION
The IT Specialist is the first point of contact for desktop-related needs within the organization, including basic level installs, diagnoses, repairs, maintenance and upgrades on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and telephony equipment. The IT Specialist will also troubleshoot problem areas (via Slack, in person, by telephone, and e-mail) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform Tier 1 onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution. Escalate if needed
* Respond to instant messages (Slack), incoming emails, and alerts regarding desktop issues
* Administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation software products
* Perform PC setups, builds, moves, additions and changes
* Follow documented procedures for logging, reporting and statistically monitoring desktop operations.
* Perform additional duties as assigned
* Basic Microsoft Active Directory experience, creating user accounts, group memberships, security permissions
* Basic Group Policy experience, creating and/or editing a policy
* Office 365 and Google G-Suite experience a plus

QUALIFICATIONS
* Associate's degree in an IT or a related discipline required, or equivalent work or educational experience
* Minimum two years of experience in information technology and customer service required.
* Proficient hardware and software skills with desktops, laptops and mobile devices and their peripherals
* Knowledge of MacOS/Windows desktop operating systems required
* Core client-side application knowledge and client-side networking and telephony skills required.
* Proficient analytical and problem solving skills required
* Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate
* Full time hours required, (with additional hours as necessary- unlikely for this role)
