IT Specialist

Job Description

We're looking for an IT specialist to build out our IT systems, manage our IT needs, and support our growing team. You'll be the main point of contact for technical and non-technical help-desk requests, tracking our laptops and related assets, and working to improve our IT processes as OpenAI grows. You will be a member of our operations team and work closely with our infrastructure team.

Responsibilities

* Ensuring a smooth experience for employees' IT onboarding and ongoing needs.
* Managing employee credentials in Gsuite, Okta, and other SaaS products.
* Purchasing, tracking, and handling laptops, office IT assets, and software licenses.
* Setting up and operating AV equipment to record all-hands and other presentations.
* Assisting with offsite IT for events.
* Managing office IT equipment such as wifi, printers, video conferencing hardware, and other equipment.
* Coordinating with external vendors, such as procuring Internet connectivity from our ISP.
* Handling help-desk requests to reset passwords, repair laptops, and other requests as needed.
* Configuring laptop profiles (ex: full disk encryption, firewalls, imaging, back-ups).
* Dedicatedly identifying and addressing technical issues across the company.

Helpful skills and experience

* You have 2+ years of experience providing IT support.
* You are Apple Certified or are an expert when it comes to Apple systems and software.
* You have experience managing an enterprise wifi setup (ex: Meraki, Ubiquiti...etc).
* You are experienced with SaaS-based services (ex: Google Suite, Okta, GitHub, Slack) and can quickly learn to integrate new ones.
* You're comfortable juggling multiple projects and have a stellar track record of managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
* You are empathetic, put your ego second, and care a lot about your customer's experience.
* You possess good interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy working with people, especially research scientists and engineers.

We publish at top machine learning conferences, open-source software tools for accelerating AI research, and release blog posts to communicate our research. We will not keep information private for private benefit, but in the long term, we expect to create formal processes for keeping technologies private when there are safety concerns.
