As an IT Software Engineer at Micron, you will support data intensive software for a very highly automated manufacturing facility using client/server, database, and web application tools in a strong team environment. You will participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation. You will establish and maintain very effective relationships with customers, software developers, project managers, and infrastructure groups across all sites. This position requires the ability to help smooth the interaction between Development teams and Operations teams (DEVOPS). In addition, you will be expected to display ownership at the site level for applications under your purview.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

Involved in and participate in daily IT incident management process and operational review

Design and build various support, maintenance, and metrics gathering utilities. Collecting and analyzing data to support automation and customer teams, present data to various groups and levels of management

* Monitor and make suggestions that improve performance and process issues
* Learn new tools in the effort to maintain, troubleshoot, and support existing software
* Create, maintain and manage training and support knowledge material
* Provide coordination and action with Major Incident events affecting operations including management of any required post mortems and associated communication
* Participate with Micron World Wide Problem Management (local and/or global)
* Test & Release software
* Design and implement web and proprietary reports
* Troubleshoot software defects
* Participate in varying degrees of software development following Micron SDLC processes
* Potential to participate in Agile Teams picking up development, packaging, testing and or deployment tasks
* Successful candidates for this position will have many of the following:
* ITIL practical experience in Incident, Release, Change, and Problem Management
* Proven problem-solving abilities
* Possesses experience and knowledge on Log Analytics (Splunk) and APM (AppDynamics) tools
* Experience using CI/CD tools
* Understand scalability and distributed systems and how to keep them up and running all the time
* Software testing experience
* Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
* Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
* Practical knowledge in many of the following areas: C#, Perl, Scripting languages, MSSQL\PL\SQL, XML, HTML, Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
* Git/SVN experience
* Organizational and project management skills.
* Ability to provide technical direction and vision.
* A clear focus on the customer experience
* A drive to continuously learn and improve
* A proven ability to drive for results, eliminate distractions and place the proper focus on the tasks necessary for success
* Knowledge of consuming and supporting RESTful services

Education:

B.S. degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is required. Equivalent experience and/or other related certifications will be considered.
