Position Summary
The IT End User Computing Service Delivery Lead Engineer owns end-to-end delivery for Mobility's collaboration and productivity tools. This role plans, delivers, enhances, supports (tier three) end-user computing systems. This role will receive direction from the Infrastructure Services Lead and will work in close conjunction with the Business
Relationship Manager to understand Mobility business unit's specific needs, while consulting with the
Architecture, Strategy, and Innovation Lead to ensure solutions comply with established architecture
standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Define the cloud-first, end-user computing vision and roadmap in collaboration with the Infrastructure Services Lead including expanded security capabilities like Certficate/Key, Identity Access, and MFA management
* Establish end user computing technology lifecycle approach, including refresh and retirement strategies
* Responsible for managing a dedicated team of end user compute delivery resources across End User
* Compute and Identity Access Management
* Design, deliver, enhance, and support (tier three) cloud enabled end-user-computing services, which include desktop software / images, mobile technologies, peripheral equipment, messaging tools, collaboration solutions, and telephony services per agreed SLAs to Mobility business units. Includes supporting Windows, Mac, and Linux desktop O/S.
* Conduct review of potential applications / vendor solutions to ensure their viability and consistency with the rest of end user computing portfolio, and what additional design is needed for integration. This includes setup and management of Microsoft Office 365 and other SAAS solutions.
* Develop and implement O365 capabilities and promote features and usage across end user community. Including integration to other technologies to improve productivity and collaboration.
* Develop software distribution application packages and scripts; advance desktop management services; and establish standards-based end user computing architecture and application portfolio
* Coordinate with Corporate Aptiv end user computing organization to ensure continuity and integration between existing Corporate solutions and Mobility and security needs.
* Coordinate with Mobility business units to define and implement work flow, approval, and provisioning tasks
* Develop and implement solutions to improve end user capabilities including remote access, virtual desktop infrastructure, mobile services, SaaS access, and others.
* Liaise with Corporate Aptiv security organization to ensure end user computing services are secure and compliant
* Proactively identify opportunities for improvements with a focus on enabling automation and self-service for Mobility product engineers
* Perform in-depth root cause analysis of end user computing problems and define actions for timely resolution and corrective actions; work with relevant vendors as necessary to assist with root cause analysis and problem resolution
* Undertake capacity and availability modelling to help select the most appropriate countermeasures, assess the impact of future changes, and identify potential improvements
* Provide thought leadership and apply leading trends in end user computing across service planning and delivery
* Support Vendor Management Lead and Infrastructure Services Lead to issue end user computing related RFPs, asses bid proposals, negotiate contracts, and onboard vendors
* Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers to collect requirements from Mobility business units to shape end user computing services
* Serve as a Subject Matter Advisor on end user computing technologies and act as the escalation resource for tier three support / major incidents with the Customer & Support Services team
* Flexible to support delivery of infrastructure services outside of end user computing, specifically within the areas of hosting & compute; storage & data; networking, and identity access management
* Lead end user computing projects from planning to delivery which may require cross coordination with Corporate Aptiv
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or information systems
* 8+ years of relevant work experience
* Experience working within End User Computing Service Delivery or similar function
* Knowledge of end user computing application architecture frameworks, concepts, and designing IT solutions
* Knowledge of the Windows, Linux, and Mac OS environments; experience across distribution technology and end-user tools in an enterprise desktop environment
* Knowledge of end-point security, remediation, and imaging
* Knowledge of mobile operating systems such as iOS and Android
* Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, and make sound decisions in emergency situations
* Highly self-motivated and directed with attention to detail
* Strong customer service orientation
* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
* Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
* Proven skills in service development, delivery, operations
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience and familiarity with hosting & compute; storage & data; networking, and identity access management services
* Experience supporting fast moving business organizations
* Experience with advanced security capabilities including IAM, malware & scanning tools, and certificate management
* Relevant experience in a service oriented organization
* Ability to develop & articulate technology innovation roadmap and vision
* Strong strategic planning skills
* Experience managing relationships across varying levels of technical competency
