Job Description

Brooks Automation is seeking qualified candidates for contingent IT/Computer Specialist positions. These contingent/contract positions will support the Windows 10 migration project at our Chelmsford headquarters over the next 6-12 months.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

* Configure and deploy computer equipment to conform to established guidelines
* Troubleshooting, answering employees' technical questions and providing general technical support.
* May assist in maintaining other equipment such as printers
* Responsible for locating and ascertaining the nature of network errors using appropriate software, and troubleshoots to resolve issues
* The position requires the individual to employ knowledge and critical thinking to apply corrective actions for equipment malfunctions and supply necessary technical support
* Documents all changes and updates to new hardware and software
* Maintains and ensures availability of computer supplies

Requirements for the Position

* Excellent computer skills are necessary as well as the ability to solve problems and troubleshoot
* Knowledge of Microsoft XP, through Win 10 required
* Experience with KACE or other imaging and deployment type software e.g. SCCM, is preferred
* Experience with migrations from Win 7 to Win 10 helpful.
* Customer service experience is required; strong communication skills and ability to converse with and support those employees who are not technologically proficient.
* Strong written communication skills with the ability to document and enter data in the job ticket correctly and quickly
* Requires knowledge of basic hardware and software functions and networking
* Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
* Organizational skills are essential

Required Education:

* High school diploma and minimum computer skills are mandatory; applicants with postsecondary certificates or degrees may be preferred by Brooks
