Job Description

The Technology (IT) Asset Analyst oversees inventory of information technology hardware and software assets (e.g., laptops, software, printers, network equipment, SAN, etc.) across the enterprise. The position requires management of software and hardware acquisitions, compliance, maintenance renewals, life-cycle planning and analysis. Works with vendors on asset procurement and negotiates contract terms. Performs regular research and data analysis to identify industry trends, and provide process improvement and cost reduction recommendations.

Essential Functions

* Maintains asset database of current inventory of hardware and software. Maintains information such as serial numbers, warranty information, etc. Resolves disputes as needed.
* Maintains vendor relationships and ensures vendor performance
* Performs reviews of hardware and software purchases and compares to industry pricing. Negotiates contact terms. Secures lowest price and leverages enterprise wide contacting when available
* Supports the collaboration between IT, Finance, Contracts and Procurement in tracking Bill of Material creation based on project/contract requests. Verifies that correct orders, receipts and licenses and approvals are obtained for all asset purchases
* Aggregates hardware/software purchasing and license data
* Analyzes current and future IT platforms and works with vendors to provide new product recommendations to management
* Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice. Preforms regular life-cycle audits and data analysis to ensure compliance and provide operation performance improvement and cost savings recommendations to management
* Assists with the development of standardized asset management reports that meet the needs of the departments; deliver these reports to the departments on an ongoing basis.
* Monitors recycling vendors and report on the disposal of retired assets and organize disposal

Education, Training and Experience

Skills:

* Connectional knowledge of Information Technology
* Written and verbal communication skills
* Proven researching ability
* IT Asset Management and Discovery Tools experience
* Experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions

Preferred:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or a related field

Role Desirables. Three years of practical experience; or three to five years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

License and Certifications

Preferred:

* CITAM certification
