Job Summary

Our ITA consultants lead and participate on IT advisory projects; helping clients make sound IT investments, align business needs with IT services, and execute large IT implementations. The position requires an ability to engage directly with client functional business leadership, lead and execute complex IT projects, communicate across multiple stakeholder groups, and lead change within a client organization. Every member is responsible for delivering insight, recommendations, and team leadership as part of their role

Whereas our ITA Practice delivers across the five core offerings listed below, the ITA Project Manager would concentrate efforts in the fourth and fifth areas with deep specialization involving Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation management:

IT Due Diligence

As part of a Private Equity Group's evaluation of a target company, we assess the current state of IT and provide key recommendations for post-investment execution

Key Areas of assessment Include: IT spend, IT organizational structure, business applications, security, IT infrastructure, and capacity to meet future business needs

IT Strategy Roadmaps

We uncover key business objectives, assess the current IT state, and outline a multi-year IT strategy of many IT initiatives in order to drive results

We assess the risk and potential business impact of each project and create a phased approach for implementation on these critical initiatives

IT System Selection

We guide companies through the process of making their most critical and long lasting IT decisions

We uncover key business requirements, research potential providers, assess alternative IT vendors, and build consensus around the winner

IT Program and Project Management

Companies often need support executing their most critical projects. Our team members serve to fill key management roles as part of these projects

We deliver through a structured project management framework to oversee the successful completion, working with client resources, vendors and consultants

IT Mergers, Acquisitions & Carve outs

We set strategy and oversee the integration and carve out of all IT related aspects of M&A

This high intensity process includes combining infrastructure, applications, people, and process

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Great candidates for this unique position will have the desire and ability to:

* Work directly in a client facing role, engaging with business and IT teams to uncover solutions and execute on strategy
* Communicate professionally, both verbally and in written form
* Travel to client sites frequently, across the US and possibly internationally
* Provide strong visual diagramming and note taking skills and ability to turn client meetings into project insights and deliverables
* Create project deliverables including written reports, PowerPoint presentations, MS Project plans, Visio diagrams and Excel analytics
* Manage large project teams, vendors and all work streams of an engagement
* Lead or work within the framework of a Project Management Office (PMO)

Qualifications

* Master's Degree in Information Systems or Bachelor's degree in Business with focus in Technology. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Informatics with a Business Focus is also acceptable.
* 4 to 10 years of overall workplace experience
* 2+ years of project management experience, preferably in ERP implementation management
* Business process modelling, process design and optimization experience preferred
* Microsoft Dynamics (AX or D365) implementation experience preferred
* Prior project management utilizing software development lifecycle concepts preferred
* Experience with IT and project management standards (e.g., PMBOK, ITIL, ISACA, or APQC)
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
* Willingness to travel extensively (including limited overseas)
* Strong service delivery experience
* Understanding of manufacturing and distribution industry and supply chain concepts preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft workspace tool suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, VSTS, Azure DevOps)
* Strong communication skills as evidenced by ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences
* Ability to communicate with business executives and develop business justifications

Locations: Chicago, IL or Indianapolis, IN preferred but other locations will be considered

Travel is required, up to 100% on occasion

Advisory Services (AS) provides transaction support, bankruptcy and restructuring advisory, valuation, corporate finance advisory, litigation and dispute resolution consulting and forensic investigation services. AS provides strategic vision and training to Crowe's Global Corporate Advisors (GCA), comprised of corporate finance professionals from independent Crowe Global member firms. AS team members collaborate with other Crowe practices on solutions for a variety of industries from financial institutions to manufacturing and beyond.
