WSP is currently initiating a search for a ITS Network Specialist at our Hauppauge, NY office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Monitor, maintain, and change all aspects of the INFORM ITS fiber optic network in the TMC and in the field as necessary. This includes, but is not limited to all network security systems, VPNs, IP addresses, routers, servers, switches and modems. Provide detailed drawings and written descriptions of all internal connections to the appropriate departmental personnel, partners
* Process and consolidate network information received from multiple sources into clearly written situation reports
* Facilitate coordination between other the INFORM Maintenance Contractor, the INFORM ATMS consultant and other ITS contractors, venders, equipment providers, government agencies, and municipal partners as required

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED or AS
* Proficiency with multiple computer systems, including but not limited to; Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access), CITRIX, and various GIS and web-based information systems
* Familiarity with installation, repair testing and troubleshooting fiber optic networks
* Must possess current certification as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), all Cisco ratings must be backed up with a personal certification number that will be verified
* Ability to read, write and understand English
* Ability to multi-task and remain calm during high pressure situations
* Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and written
* Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
* Ability to professionally interact with all levels of management
* Must have an aptitude for providing excellent customer service
* Local candidates only
* Valid clean New York State Driver's License
* Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

* BS in Computer science
* CCNP security and CCNP ratings
