We are building a predictive data system called "Helio" to bring the data-driven revolution that has occurred in the public markets to the private markets, starting with consumer & retail.

We are working on challenging problems in information retrieval, entity resolution, and machine learning. We are developing an in-depth knowledge graph of all private companies by mining vast amounts of data to successfully rewrite the rules on how private companies are evaluated.

We're adding talented teammates to our Engineering team. You will be working closely with other engineers, data scientists, product managers, and investment professionals to build out the capabilities of Helio.

Responsibilities:

* Lead a team of driven Software and Infrastructure Engineers. Take responsibility for their career progression and growth.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance for building our Machine Learning infrastructure, Data Science platform, and developer tooling / workflow capabilities
* Work closely with Product management to align on priorities most likely to create business benefit.
* Design and build capabilities that increase the momentum of the Data Science and Engineering team. Remove roadblocks to ensure the team has the tools needed to succeed.
* Contribute to improving Engineering discipline / process, and growing the team (sourcing and interviewing new teammates).

Requirements:

* Have a B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent degree and work experience
* 3+ years experience leading an Engineering or Data Science team
* Knowledge of the tooling landscape for assembling Machine Learning platforms or Data platforms.
* Excellent software engineering skills and strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and big data concepts
* Experience with the Amazon Web Services ecosystem (EC2, S3, EMR, RDS)
* Experience with other elements of our stack (Python, Pandas, Sci-kit Learn, PySpark, Airflow, Kubernetes) is preferred but not required
