The IT Infrastructure Architect is responsible for expert design and architecture standards required for installation/configuration, operation and support of systems hardware and software related infrastructure. Tasks will be focused on advanced design, implementation, maintaining high availability, performance , and security of Windows and Virtual host based systems that are provided either on premise or from our Cloud Solutions business. Must be able to manage urgent and complex issues by setting customer expectations , devising and implementing action plans, being available as required and professionally communicating to all parties involved. Exhibits exceptional oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate (technically and non-technically) with other team members; other technology services staff, customers, vendors, partners and leadership. Ensure successful and cooperative completion of tasks and projects and to resolve problems in a timely manner. Demonstrates ability to proactively identify and resolve any architectural or standard issue effectively & efficiently required to ensure minimal disruptions & unplanned downtimes of assigned systems. Independently seeks new technologies that will improve the availability, support, and costs of infrastructure systems. Manage computing infrastructure including servers, data storage, and supporting infrastructure . Technical expert that provides support to other IT areas and coaches/mentors other members of the team.

Requirements

10+ years minimum experience in a designing and architecting enterprise server environment with both administration and problem resolution of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 /2008/2012 required. 7 years minimum working with VMware or equivalent Virtual products. 2003/2008/2012 DHCP/DNS/WINS/Citrix/Active Directory management expertise required. Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and other protocols including use of troubleshooting tools - scripting, resource kit diagnostic tools and packet sniffers. Candidate MUST have strong, demonstrable skills in Clustering/Business Continuity and support of those technologies.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science or Engineering.

Have obtained MCSE or equivalent certification in the past or within 6 months of hire.

Ability to independently plan, organize and document complex infrastructure design activities and standards to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures; Must be able to proactively identify possible infrastructure issues and clearly and timely communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing; Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility; Willing and competent in performing multiple tasks concurrently and acts is the technical expert in emergency situations.
