Transformation to an Agile way of working is core component of Digital Strategy at SWIFT. The adoption of a Reference Architecture that is easy to deploy and consume in the service of business is a key enabler of this strategy and enables Innovation. The Infrastructure Architecture team, working with the Platform and Tooling teams, defines, evolves, and drives adoption of components of the Reference Architecture, including the Standard Platform (Compute), Data Platform, Operational Management, Service Management, and App interconnectivity. The team is seeking an Platform Orchestration/IaaS Architect to focus on making the infrastructure easy to consume in the form of services within a Service Catalog, consisting of Compute instances, Data platforms, Containers, Interconnectivity in a standardized manner, and in compliance with security policies

Responsibilities

* Define the model for standardized infrastructure and management services within the catalog as a foundation for consistent provisioning and orchestration
* Covering Virtual Compute Nodes, Storage, Databases, Network Interconnectivity, Containers and management services
* Model APIs that express operations on this catalog of Infrastructure services
* Select technology that supports an implementation of such Infrastructure services as well as integration into Orchestration workflow and ITSM tools
* Define and evolve the High Level Design of the solution and guide its implementation
* Extend the solution to Cloud adoption for select workloads
* Conduct technology assessments, Proofs-of-Concept, and support technology selection
* Work across teams in the organization such as Product Owners, Designers, Senior Managers, Peer Architects (App, Infra, Network)
* Stay abreast of evolution in the industry, best practices and bring those into the organization

Qualifications

* Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines.
* 10 years of experience and demonstrable track record in several the following
* Infrastructure Architecture covering Unix/Linux, Vmware, Network, Storage. Containers & Kubernetes highly desirable
* Hands on experience building Infrastructure Automation around the above
* Knowledge of Automation and management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Cloudforms and how they interface with Infrastructure
* Ability to model infrastructure in terms of entities, attributes and relationships, templates
* Experience building APIs and Scripted interfaces to such automation, with standard AuthN, AuthZ techniques
* Experience making these services available via CI/CD or interfacing with ITSM tools such as Service Now
* Sound knowledge of CI/CD Practices, and "fit for purpose" dev languages such as Java, Python
* Ability to articulate the big picture and map to next level of detail, as well as synthesize a big picture from diverse components
* Track record of making or supporting major technology decisions based on technical analysis
* Strong writing and verbal skills including: design documentation, stakeholder presentations, tailoring communication to audience.
* Problem solving mindset, ability to conduct technical analysis
* Demonstrated ability to learn new technology and adopt it, creating Proofs-Of-Concept, and knowledge of industry trends
* Self-driven, and a good team player, comfortable working collaboratively with diverse teams
